# Release highlights A distilled, plain-language summary of each release of the **OOS Digital Library design system** — grouped by theme, with the headline changes only. For the full technical log (every component, file and behaviour touched), see `CHANGELOG.md`. Versions follow semver plus the date of the release. --- ## 1.9.1 — 2026-07-20 **A „we'll be right back“ loop for the talk** A new looping waiting animation for screen-shared pauses: eight scenes in the invitation's visual style cycle through the project's highlights with a „za chvíli pokračujeme“ badge and the AURA logotype on every scene, with adjustable pace and per-scene hold. The playback bar can be hidden for live use with a single key. **Deck fine-tuning before the talk** A copy pass across the presentation deck: presenter name and version filled in on the title slide, unified section numbering, refreshed statistics and versioning, clearer wording on several slides, a fourth follow-up card, and the deployed-app placeholder replaced by the real link. App naming is now one canon across the deck, the run-of-show and the animations. **Offline downloads carried over** This patch touches only the presentation package, so the three single-file offline downloads are unchanged from 1.9.0 and were not rebuilt. --- ## 1.9.0 — 2026-07-19 **Theme Lab grows up** The token-theming showcase became a full tool: a settings panel with basic and expert modes, search, collapsible and drag-to-reorder sections, user presets you can save and share, background effects for the page and panels, a separate display typeface, and a showcase scene that adapts to the active preset — an e-shop, food delivery, a TV schedule, a notice board or a kids' library. Presets were reworked to actually exercise the new depth, and new palettes, neutral sets and fonts joined the options. **The whole system re-shapes through tokens** Components now read their corner rounding, border weights and focus-ring styling from a small set of role tokens, and opt-in variants cover underlined tabs, borderless pagination, animated check ticks, tree-style filter panels, frosted-glass surfaces and more — a theme can go much further without touching a single component, while the default look stays exactly as before. **Tours that teach the keyboard** Guided tours can now showcase key presses with big on-screen keycaps — and a new learning mode turns them into exercises that wait until you actually press the keys. Every surface gained a "Keyboard navigation" tour, and the flagship components offer their own, launchable straight from the playground. **Panels you can rearrange** Sections in the settings panels now reorder by dragging their header, panels anchor themselves sensibly as sections collapse, and one button collapses or expands everything. A stubborn series of drop-target bugs was chased to its root cause and fixed, with a diagnostics overlay kept for the future. **Easier to tell apart, easier to demo** Every app now carries its own favicon from one shared family, so browser tabs are distinguishable at a glance. Demo controls across the component pages were unified into one vocabulary — the same pills, icons and wording everywhere — and the playground gained sections for favicons, iconography and region navigation, closing the last coverage gaps. **A talk about the project, built in the project** A package for presenting the project to colleagues: a 28-slide Czech deck in the design-system look with live-demo slides and animated statistics, a printable run-of-show with timings and fallback plans, and a short looping invitation animation. File references in the deck copy themselves to the clipboard on click. **Offline downloads refreshed** All three single-file offline downloads were rebuilt to include everything above, with the Japanese typeface kept embedded so the Japanese interface still works offline. --- ## 1.8.0 — 2026-07-11 **Tours on every surface** The guided-tour help layer is no longer prototype-only: the dataset preview, the component playground and the developer reference each gained their own welcome tour and context-aware feature tours (in Czech and English), built on the same engine. The guide also joined the library as a documented component in its own right, with its own reference page. **A more reliable guide** The tours were hardened through a round of real use. Highlights now stay glued to what they point at — even when the page reflows, the target moves, or a field grows while the cursor types into it — and circular spotlights sit dead-centre on buttons. When a tour needs something hidden in a side drawer, it now visibly opens it first (spotlighting the menu button and clicking it with the simulated cursor), and stepping back or leaving a tour restores what it changed: drawers close, language and theme switch back. Every tour on all four surfaces is re-verified end to end at many window sizes. **Share a link that opens the app your way** A link to the prototype can now pre-select the interface language and the colour theme (light, dark, or follow-the-system), so you can send someone a link that opens exactly as you intend. The in-app switches keep working as before. **A portable "Studio Kit"** The workbench chrome around the design system — the Tweaks/Inspector panels, styled tooltips, the floating tool cluster, state forcing, animation speed control, the guided-tour engine, and the playground and reference shells — now also exists as a self-contained, portable kit that another project or design system can adopt by copying one folder and writing a small config. It is showcased by live demo cards in a new "Studio Kit" group, and this project itself sources five of the seven modules directly from the kit, so improvements land in one place. **Nicer settings panels** Dropdowns in the Tweaks and Inspector panels were replaced by a styled combobox that matches the panel (with full keyboard support), every panel control now shows the styled tooltips, sections collapse consistently — and both combined Tweaks panels gained a "randomize" dice for button styling, with per-option pins to protect the choices you want to keep. **Offline downloads refreshed** All three single-file offline downloads were rebuilt to include everything above, with the Japanese typeface kept embedded so the Japanese interface still works offline. --- ## 1.7.0 — 2026-07-08 **A guided tour of the app** The prototype now has a built-in help layer. A "?" button in the bottom-left corner opens a list of short, interactive tours that walk you through the app by actually driving it — spotlighting the right area, moving a cursor, typing into fields and turning pages while a small card explains each step. A welcome tour starts on your first visit, and every screen suggests the tours relevant to it: searching, filtering, the different result views and pagination, availability levels, signing in, requesting access, tracking requests, your library and the document reader, plus tours covering the app's background, live language switching, dark mode and the floating tools. You can replay any tour, resume one you left part-way, set the pace (fast, normal or calm), switch the guide's own language independently of the interface, and reset everything — and tours tidy up after themselves, restoring your filters and view when they finish. **Reading documents** The reader gained a floating page control that stays within reach at the bottom of the screen while you scroll and settles into place at the end, matching the catalogue. Documents you've been granted through an approved request now say so: a strip under the toolbar names the approving request and links to it, and every page carries a subtle "controlled distribution" watermark with the request and organisation details. The strip can be dismissed for the current reading session. **Browsing the catalogue** In cover (grid) view, pages now always end on a complete row instead of stranding a lone tile beside empty space, and switching between the table and cover layouts keeps the document you were looking at on screen. **Consistent labels when you switch language** Fixed several places where page counters and labels — "Page 1 of 12", the reader's document-type tooltip — kept the previous language after you changed the interface language; they now update immediately everywhere. **Small screens and everyday polish** The results and My-Library toolbars now hold a single tidy row much further down in width before they rearrange, and behave identically. A "back to top" arrow was added to the catalogue's page control, the normal window scrollbar is back on the main product pages (and follows dark mode), the quick-access tiles arrange in clean 4 / 2 / 1 columns, and dragging a header tab no longer starts a stray link-drag. Behind the scenes, the request status timeline draws its connecting lines accurately regardless of step content or window resizing, and landing positions after paging account for the active filter pills. **Offline downloads refreshed** All three single-file offline downloads were rebuilt to include everything above, with the Japanese typeface kept embedded so the Japanese interface still works offline. --- ## 1.6.0 — 2026-07-05 **Three interface languages** The prototype's interface now switches between Czech, English and Japanese — from the header or the settings panel — with a smooth full-page sweep when you change it. Everything the interface says is translated, including card labels, dialogs, toasts and status timelines; document titles prefer the matching language where the catalogue has one. Document content, codes and proper names stay in their original form. Japanese text renders in a proper Japanese typeface. **Reading documents** Opening a public document no longer dead-ends: a document reader shows a simulated paged publication with a table of contents, page turning (buttons, keys or the pager), adjustable text size, full-screen mode and a remembered reading position per document. Documents you're not entitled to open explain why and take you to the request flow. **Deeper search** Results now show *why* they matched — the matching text is highlighted across the table, cards and covers, with a short note when the match sits in a field the row doesn't display. The search box remembers your recent queries, a zero-result page lists your active criteria as one-click removable pills, and two new sidebar facets let you filter by owning authority and working group. Typing stays fast even with all of this on. **Filters on small screens** On phones the filter column becomes a "Filters" button opening a bottom sheet — draggable between half and full height, with a live "Show N results" confirm. The rest of the app also got a small-screen and touch pass (page transitions, tap targets, tooltips). **Cleaner data** Over two hundred document titles with wrong letter-casing were repaired, and the repair lives in the normalisation tool so re-imports reproduce it. **For teams building on the system** Consuming projects now get three ready-made starting templates — an application shell with the state header and footer, a catalogue page and a document detail — wired to the shared components. A new iconography card documents the blessed icon set and its usage rules, and the localisation hooks the shared renderers expose are now covered in each component's developer reference. **Offline downloads refreshed** All three single-file offline downloads were rebuilt after three weeks of changes — including the Japanese typeface, so the Japanese interface now works offline too. --- ## 1.5.0 — 2026-06-15 **Borrowing requests** Requesting a document is now a polished, end-to-end flow. The request form is built on the shared form controls and confirms both sending and cancelling with a dialog that summarises the document. Each request you make is tracked on its own in My Requests, updating live as its status changes without disturbing the others. Documents that have been requested more than once show the most relevant outcome — including a clear "declined" state explaining the decision and inviting a fresh request — and following a request link lands you on the matching list, filtered and scrolled to the right card. Going back now returns you to exactly where you were, briefly highlighting the item you opened. **Clearer form feedback** Form fields and checkboxes now show obvious error states — a red outline, an inline message, and a gentle shake on a failed submit — and the reason field shows a live character counter as you approach its minimum length. Checkboxes gained a matching error style so a required, unticked consent box reads as invalid at a glance. **Search fix** The collapsed (icon-only) search in toolbars now opens its input panel in the correct position, instead of appearing offset below the button. **Release notes in Czech** These plain-language release highlights now have a Czech translation, previewed directly on the landing hub alongside the English version. --- ## 1.4.0 — 2026-06-15 **Documentation** Added this distilled release-notes companion to the detailed changelog — plain-language highlights, grouped by theme, so you can scan what changed in each version without the technical detail. The landing hub links it alongside the full changelog. **Downloads** The offline single-file downloads now save to disk by default instead of opening in the browser. --- ## 1.3.0 — 2026-06-15 **Sign-in & request tracking** The prototype now has a working account model: it starts signed out, with an original sign-in flow (four identity providers) and an account menu in the header. Borrowing a document is a complete loop — request a title, watch it move from submitted → in review → approved, and see approved items appear in your library. Confirmation messages accompany every step. **Dialogs & notifications** Two new shared building blocks: modal dialogs (with focus handling, scrim, and smooth open/close motion) and a toast notification system (queued, auto-dismissing, pause-on-hover, with optional undo). **Menus** A new menu component for action lists — a trigger that opens a floating panel of choices, with full keyboard support and smart placement that flips to stay on screen. The account menu is its first user; its chevron and items now animate. **Form fields & search** Edge-fading and an animated clear (×) button are now standard capabilities of every input, not just search. Search gained a family of space-saving variants that collapse to an icon when room is tight and expand on demand. Long values fade at the edge instead of being cut with an ellipsis. **Motion polish** The animation speed controls now reach toast motion and animations running inside nested example frames, so playback speed is honoured everywhere. **Deployment** Fixed a text-encoding issue on the live site that caused garbled Czech characters — corrected at the server level, with no change to the source content. --- ## 1.2.0 — 2026-06-13 **Versioning & the deployment hub** Introduced a single source of truth for the version number, stamped onto every surface. The landing hub gained dark mode, meaning-based icons on its documentation cards, and a self-healing guard that hides any card whose target is missing — keeping bundled deployments tidy. **Developer reference & playground** The reference's interactive builders gained the catalogue table's structural controls plus one-click animation triggers. The playground's section menu picked up extra keyboard shortcuts for faster navigation. --- ## 1.1.0 — 2026-06-13 **Developer reference** A major upgrade to the live code runner so interactive examples render reliably and pop-ups are no longer clipped. Nearly every component gained a configurator on its usage example, letting you tweak options and copy the resulting snippet. The reference is also available as a single offline file. **Components** Dropdown menus now detect when they would run off the bottom of the screen and open upward (or scroll into view) instead. **Localization** Added a Czech README and made the developer reference open in Czech from the hub, with English remaining the authoritative source. --- ## 1.0.0 — 2026-06-12 The first versioned release — the complete design system to date: **Foundations** Design tokens, light and dark themes, a reduced-motion policy, the Czechia Sans typeface and an icon set. **Components** Around 35 shared components and compounds, each with its own motion behaviour, documented and demonstrated in the interactive playground. **Tools & references** A developer reference, the interactive playground, a full interactive prototype, and a dataset preview spanning ~2,600 documents. **Deployment** A landing hub, offline single-file exports, and a deployment guide.
